The demand for more chemists would most likely be in the research and development part. Those working for pharmaceutical manufacturing would earn around $57,000 while those who work for basic chemical manufacturing would earn a little above average at $62,300.
Those working for the federal executive branch are some of the highest paid chemist which would earn around $89,000. Depending on the company where the chemist would be working in, a chemist is generally entitled to a lot of benefits.
